Knut Espen Johansen to Lead Customs Support Norway into its Next Phase of Growth

Introducing Knut Espen Johansen, our new Managing Director at Customs Support Norway. With more than 30 years of experience in customs and logistics, Knut Espen will drive innovation and digital transformation while strengthening Customs Support Group’s presence in this key Nordic market.

Oslo, 02 October, 2025 – Customs Support Group, Europe’s leading provider of customs clearance and trade solutions, has announced the appointment of Knut Espen Johansen as Managing Director for Norway, effective 1st of October.

Knut Espen Johansen brings over 30 years of experience in the Norwegian customs and logistics sector. He joins Customs Support Group from Maersk Logistics & Services Norway AS, where he was part of the Management Team as Head of Customs Implementation and Automation, leading regional strategies, customer onboarding processes, and digital customs solutions. Knut Espen has also held senior roles at Orkla Foods Norway AS, KGH Customs Services AS, KSD Software Norway AS, and EdiCom Norge AS, building extensive expertise in innovation, systems transformation, and digital customs initiatives. Educated at the Norwegian Customs Academy and having started his career in the Norwegian Customs, Knut Espen is well positioned to guide Customs Support Norway through its next phase of growth.

He succeeds Harald Halvorsen d.y., who has been instrumental in guiding Customs Support Norway since the strategic acquisition of Harald Halvorsen Spedisjon AS in December 2024.

Building on more than 110 years and four generations of family stewardship, Harald has ensured a smooth transition into CSG and will continue as Senior Advisor in the organisation. In his new role as a member of the CSG Industry Advisory Board, Harald will contribute with his expertise and strategic insight to support the ongoing development and innovation initiatives.

Over the next few months, Harald and Knut Espen will work closely together to ensure a thorough and seamless handover, providing continuity and stability for Norwegian operations and the broader Nordic cluster.

“I am thrilled to take on the role of Managing Director at Customs Support Norway. I look forward to contributing my experience to support our clients, strengthen our operations, and build on the trust and expertise that Harald and his team have cultivated over the years”, said Knut Espen Johansen.

“Knut Espen’s depth of experience and strategic insight will be invaluable as we strengthen our leadership and expand our capabilities in Norway. We are delighted to welcome Knut Espen to our team”, said John Wegman, CEO of Customs Support Group. “We also thank Harald for his leadership throughout the integration of his company into CSG and look forward to his continued guidance on the Industry Advisory Board.”

With this leadership transition, Customs Support Norway is well-positioned to continue supporting clients with trusted expertise while contributing to growth and innovation across the Nordic region.
