Rising Star Commendation For Trailblazing Young Logistics Professional
Customs Support Group’s Hannah Holland has swiftly risen through the ranks aged just 24
A trailblazing young logistics marketeer who has swiftly risen through the ranks in her early twenties is in line for a coveted industry award recognising her outstanding career progress to date.
Aged just 24, Hannah Holland has already progressed from apprentice to Brand Communication manager at Customs Support Group (CSG), Europe’s leading independent customs provider.
Starting her career at age 17 with Britannia Bureau, a respected UK customs brokerage now part of CSG, she began in an operational role focused on goods classification. From the outset, she developed a deep passion for the discipline, recognising it not merely as a technical requirement but as a strategic cornerstone of international trade.
Classification involves assigning Harmonised System (HS) codes to goods, which determines the duties, taxes, and regulatory controls applied during import and export. It’s a service that underpins compliance, ensures accurate customs declarations, and protects businesses from costly delays, penalties, and reputational risk. Her early immersion in this complex field gave her a strong foundation in regulatory nuance and commercial impact.
This led to a natural progression into IT, where she deepened her understanding of CSG’s proprietary dashboarding and digital classification tools, bridging operational expertise with technological innovation. From there, she moved into marketing, bringing a rare cross-functional perspective that connects service delivery with strategic messaging.
Her journey reflects the evolution of customs itself, from a back-office necessity to a high-impact service offering that drives compliance, cost optimisation, digital scaling, and customer trust.
Amid the aftermath of Brexit, evolving international trade regulations and accelerated digitalisation, Hannah’s strategic vision and creative flair helped launch a unified branding strategy and website that now define CSG’s presence across Europe.
This work has seen her recognised as ‘Highly Commended’ in the Rising Star category at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards, held in London.
Julia Verbunt, group marketing director at Customs Support Group, said: “Hannah is not just a rising star, she is a trailblazer. Her journey is a testament to what’s possible when talent meets tenacity.
“Her drive, ingenuity, and fearlessness have set a new standard for what rising talent can accomplish and she has redefined what it means to grow within a company.
“Her story continues to inspire those around her. With her proven track record, boundless enthusiasm, and clear vision for the future, Hannah is poised to make an even greater impact in the years to come.”
Hannah’s path changed direction towards marketing in 2019 when Britannia’s new website project emerged and when the project’s lead contractor was unable to continue, her self-taught expertise enabled her to seamlessly take over the project deliverables and coordination.
Her drive for personal development and continued project-based success saw her rise quickly – stepping into a group-level role by 22. By 23, she was entrusted with leading CSG’s branding strategy, a remarkable achievement that reflects both her talent and the bright future ahead.
John Wegman, CEO, Customs Support Group, said: “While innovation in the supply chain is often associated with technology and logistics, Hannah has shown that branding and communication can be equally transformative. Her strategic approach to brand identity has given CSG a clear competitive edge.”
Hannah said: “It is an honour to be nominated by my peers for this award and I am proud of what I have achieved, aided by a forward-thinking and exceptionally supportive team.
“I’m looking forward to flying the flag for CSG at the awards next week.”
